Yesterday we published a poll asking our readers and folks in a variety of large social media groups which modern Dodge Challenger hood they thought looked the best. Since the current Challenger was introduced for the 2015 model year, it has worn six different hood designs with multiple options each year. Having seen the discussion of “which hood is your favorite”, we decided to tap the community for their input.
Our poll has been live for a little over 24 hours and with hundreds of total votes, the original Hellcat hood is in the lead with 28%.
The Demon hood is in second with 21% while the Shaker hood is a close third with 20%. The Demon and Shaker have been swapping back and forth between second and third through the voting process while the original Hellcat hood – also offered on the newer Challenger Scat Pack – has slowly inched away in the lead.
For those wondering, the twin-scoop design of the Challenger Redeye era is fourth in the balloting with 15% and surprisingly, the Power Bulge hood is fifth with 8%, narrowing beating the “SRT 392” hood that is now offered on GT and R/T models.
We plan to leave the voting open for a week, but right now, it looks like the original Hellcat hood will claim the top spot while the Shaker and Demon designs fight it out for second.
