GM beats ProMaster BEV to the punch

GM has beaten the battery-electric ProMaster and the Rivian van to the punch by producing the first electric light commercial vehicle in the United States. The EV600, selling under the BrightDrop brand, started production of electric light vans today.

The EV600 is the first van made by GM; the first ones will be delivered to FedEx Express. The EV410, a midsize van, was also launched; it was created for small, frequent trips. Verizon has already signed up to buy the EV410.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create, which is intended to end up as an enduring partnership.
