Jeep Introduces 2021 Freedom Edition Lineup

Back in 2003, the Jeep brand introduced the “Freedom Edition” package for the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and Liberty as a relatively simple appearance package. When that package name was brought back in 2012, it did so as a military tribute package for the Wrangler line (shown below in dark blue), and that military theme continued when it was introduced for the 2020 Wrangler. This past Memorial Day weekend, the Jeep brand introduced the latest evolution of the Freedom Edition package. Once again, it is designed to pay tribute to the United States military, but this time, the unique package is available on every new Jeep model.

“At the Jeep brand, we are proud of our military heritage, with origins that date back to 1941, and the Freedom special editions are a tribute to all who have served and continue to serve,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand – North America. “This Memorial Day, we honor those who have made the greatest sacrifice for their country and support those who continue to serve through these special editions.”

The Freedom Edition for the 2021 Jeep lineup is a full trim level for every vehicle (below in white), appearing at different places in the pricing scale for each model. For the Grand Cherokee, the Freedom model is the second-least-expensive, while the Wrangler Freedom falls in the middle of that model line, obviously including unique features on the different vehicles.

Key features of the newest Freedom Edition trim level include an “Oscar Mike” military star decal on the hood, matte black wheels, matte black accents and an American flag decal on the side of each vehicle. The Wrangler and Gladiator also have the Oscar Mike logo on the rear tailgate. Also, Jeep will donate $250 to the United Service Organizations (USO) for every Freedom Edition model sold, so in addition to offering Jeepers a cool, military-themed vehicle, this trim level also leads to financial contributions to a key military organization.
