Ordering open for 807-hp Jailbreak Charger and Challenger

Buyers can now order their 2022 Dodge Charger Jailbreak and Dodge Challenger Jailbreak. The cars, listed in the dodge.com build and price system, are based on the widebody Redeye models, which have bulging fenders to accommodate plus-sized tires. Those are essential for putting 797 horsepower to the ground—except that the $995 Jailbreak package boosts output to 807 horsepower. That’s about the same as two high-performance 440 V8s.

As with the final Vipers, these models can be customized quite a bit, and it’s possible no two will be exactly alike. More likely, many buyers will use recipes from the ordering guide.

“Roughly half of all Dodge customers modify their vehicles,” said Tim Kuniskis, head of Dodge. “For those looking for increased performance, we will launch Direct Connection next month. But for those looking for a unique appearance, we are going to let customers run free through the styling archives. We’re taking most of the parts and pieces we’ve used over the years, adding a few new ones and letting customers build their own ‘One of One.’ So, if you’re dreaming about owning a Stinger Yellow Challenger with Brass Monkey wheels, Hammerhead Grey seats, blue Brembos and red badges, I’m not sure we should, but we’ll build it for you.”

In addition to having the most customization options and the most power for the Charger lineup, the 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak and 2022 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak have the longest names for a pair of performance cars in the industry.

Both cars have a ten-horsepower boost to 807 horsepower, via an engine calibration change; none of the actual components are different.

For the Challenger, there are seven wheel options, seven stripe options, seven seat options, six brake caliper options, five exterior badging options, four steering wheels, four seat belt colors, four floor mat options and more. Any combination of features that you can think up, Dodge will build. This includes the options in the current lineup, along with some “new” options that might actually be an older option brought back as part of the Jailbreak package.
