Satera Tuning Resets the Durango Hellcat Quarter Mile Record

Yesterday, we brought you the news of the first 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat to run in the 9-second range and today, we bring you news of the new quarter mile record holder for the factory-supercharged SUV. Jeremy Satera, who was the first to put the Hellcat Durango in the 10s, hit the track the day after the 9-second barrier had been broken by Scott Boegler and while there, the Satera Tuned Dodge SUV ran its own 9-second run while claiming the record for the all-wheel-drive Hellcat.

Satera ran a 9.810 at 142.38 miles per hour, setting the quarter mile elapsed time and speed records for the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. My internet was out due to a storm, so we are a few days behind, but here is a look at what Jeremy Satera did to get his wife’s daily driver into the 9-second range.

The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat shown in the video below is equipped with the Satera Tuning SaTTun 900 package along with some extra goodies. The list of upgrades includes a Satera Tuning Clutched Greed 2.75-inch upper pulley, an ATI 10% lower pulley, a Legmaker cold air intake, a Per4mance Development rear diff brace, ID1300 fuel injectors, a SaTTun Tru Flex Fuel system, a Nitrous Outlet plate kit pilled at 200, a NOS Mini 2 Progressive Controller and the whole setup is tuned to run on Out Front Race Fuels “Satera Spice Fuel Blend” with HPTuners software.

Satera Tuning Durango Hellcat Dyno Sheet

This build yielded figures of 1,089.59 horsepower and 1,077.3 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels on the dyno. For comparison, when this Durango ran 10.50s, it was making 873 horsepower and 828 lb-ft, so the latest upgrades added more than 200 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

The Record Run

On the record run, Jeremy Satera got off of the starting line with a 1.457 60-foot time, sprinting to the half-track mark in 6.331 seconds at 112.98 miles per hour. Mind you, that is a 1.457 60-foot time with the factory tires. It took him 8.221 seconds to get to the 1,000-foot mark and he stopped the timers at the quarter mile stripe with a time of 9.81 at 142.38 miles per hour.

With Scott Boegler setting the Durango Hellcat record with a 9.93 the day before, Satera claimed the record for the world’s quickest factory-supercharged Dodge three-row SUV. You can watch the record run in the video below.
