Jeep is recalling roughly eleven 2022 Jeep Gladiators in the United States, and most likely a few elsewhere in the world, because a small number of transmissions may have been made with “an improperly crimped parking wheel.”
The Gladiators were all made from June 29, 2022, to July 6, 2022, based on supplier data and production records; they had the 8HP75 eight-speed automatic, supplied by ZF itself (not the Chrysler version of that transmission).
The company is unaware of any incidents involving rollaways, but customers having a vehicle in that production date range (or, indeed, any vehicles of any kind) may wish to use the handbrake / emergency brake when parking on anything but a perfectly level surface.
Great catch!
So, they were all diesels? 8hp75 is only for the diesel. The Pentastar gets the Chrysler built 850re.
Don’t get me started on people who refuse to use the park-brake.
All I can say (without getting arrested) is, “LOL”.
