Jeep confirms Wagoneer L timing, Jeep BEV

Jeep has confirmed that the Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L, long-wheelbase versions of its luxury full-size vehicles based on Ram 1500 platforms, will start production later this year, with deliveries beginning within 2022.

The Grand Wagoneer L was shown at the New York Auto Show earlier this year. It includes a standard twin turbo Hurricane Six.

The company also noted that the Windsor (Ontario) Assembly Plant will “produce vehicles on STLA Large platform from 2024.”

Jeep BEV

Jeep also confirmed its already-unveiled battery-electric vehicle, which may or may not be sold in the United States as well as Europe. Motales notes in their overall rumor roundup:

Renegade is due to be replaced with a completely new vehicle around 2024. “The vehicle maybe to be known as Jeepster” will slot in underneath the Renegade in Europe and India; it’s around 16 inches shorter in length, runs a little Peugeot engine, the Peugeot BEV system, or a Peugeot hybrid powertrain, and may only have AWD in hybrid and/or BEV form. This vehicle will sit on Peugeot’s CMP, along with (we think) the future Fiat Panda and an Alfa Romeo whose name hasn’t been released yet.
