Jeep announced today that it will debut a new option package for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L at the Chicago Auto Show, which might explain the Jeep presentation there. It’s still possible the 2023 Renegade might be shown, but major Jeep launches have generally either been at the New York show or at Jeep’s own events.
The ultra-long-named vehicle, 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited Black Package, takes the three-row SUV and, for $1,695, adds 20-inch glossy black wheels, glossy black accents, roof rails, and a unique black grille.
The L Limited 4×4, the only vehicle the Black Package is available on for the moment, comes with Selec-Terrain five-setting traction control, automatic high beams, new-for-’22 premium LED fog lamps and power heated glossy black mirrors which include blind spot indicators, position memory, and supplemental turn signals. Inside, drivers get power eight-way seats covered in Capri leather, power four way front lumbar adjustments with memory, and a heated steering wheel.
Coming up is the Grand Cherokee 4xe, with a 56 MPGe rating and combined driving range of 470 miles, which may or may not be shown in Chicago.
