Mopar is now selling WiFi-capable 240-volt chargers for owners of Jeep® 4xe vehicles and the Chrysler Pacifica PHEV; available in plug-in or hardwired versions, they can provide a full charge in a little over two hours, around six times faster than 120V chargers. Adding WiFi gives owners the ability to monitor and control charging via a mobile app and a web portal.
The chargers supply up to 32 amps (7.7kW) of power. They are Energy Star®-certified and smart-grid optimized for a balance between availability, efficiency, and cost to help customers reduce energy costs by charging at low-rate times and participate in energy credit programs where available.
Portable, lightweight, lockable, and weatherproof, each unit is universally compatible and backed by a 3-year warranty. The U.S list price is $599; they may be ordered with either a Jeep or a Chrysler faceplate. See the Mopar parts and accessories eStore or dealerships in the United States for more details.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
