Jeep is recalling certain 2021-22 Grand Cherokee Ls due to a missing weld in the seatback frame to the child seat anchor. The good news is that, of 4,586 vehicles sold in the U.S. which are potentially involved in the recall—those built from October 13, 2021 to February 2, 2022—only 3% are expected to have a problem; and customers will be notified starting this week, with repair solutions immediately available.
Chrysler is recalling 2021-22 Pacificas and Voyagers which may have a binding second-row seat-to-floor mounting latch which may stick open, preventing seats from being properly secured and causing injuries in a crash. There may also be a rattle from the second row seat while driving, though this is not always going to be true. Only 1% of the 1,160 vehicles covered by the recall—those made from October 4, 2021 to October 28, 2021—have the problem. The issue affects around 1,094 Pacificas and 66 Voyagers (Voyagers affected were made from October 7 to October 20); customer notices will be sent later this month.
Numbers of vehicles are from U.S. sales, but recalls are often global in scope. The parts supplier in both cases was Magna. U.S. customers with concerns about these recalls can call customer service, at 800-853-1403; Canadian customers may call 800-387-9983 (French) or 800-465-2001 (English).
