2024 Dodge Durango Engine Lineup, Tow N Go Details

Early this morning, we brought you the news of the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, but since receiving a few questions about the rest of the lineup, we have put together this quick piece detailing the engine options and trim levels for the roomy SUV. In short, very little has changed for the 2024 model year Durango, so all of the engines from 2023 are still available for 2024…which means there are three different Hemi V8 engine options across six different model offerings.

2024 Dodge Durango Citadel

The “base” engine in the 2024 Dodge Durango is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which offers 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard in the SXT, GT and Citadel (above in White Knuckle) models and comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission (850RE) and rear-wheel-drive, but all-wheel-drive is available on all of those models.

2024 Dodge Durango R/T Tow N Go

The first V8 option is the 5.7-liter Hemi with 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard in the Durango R/T (above in Octane Red), but it optional in Citadel models. An 8-speed automatic (8HP70) is standard and rear-wheel-drive is standard as well – making this the only Hemi that you can get (in the Durango) without AWD, but AWD is optional for both models as well.

2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392

Next up, we have the 392 cubic inch Hemi in the 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 (above in Destroyer Grey), offering 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque only for the SRT 392 model. The 8-speed automatic (8HP70) and all-wheel-drive are standard with this engine.

2024 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat

Finally, as mentioned in our previous article, the SRT Hellcat (above in Frostbite) is back for 2024, offering 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque in the Dodge Durango . This engine is, of course, only offered with all-wheel-drive and the 8-speed transmission (8HP95).

The biggest change announced so far for the 2024 Dodge Durango is that the popular Tow-N-Go package is now available for the Citadel models, in addition to the R/T models.

2024 Dodge Durango R/T Tow N Go

The Tow-N-Go package includes Brembo four-piston brakes, SRT performance tuned steering, Bilstein adaptive suspension and 20-inch wheels. In the R/T models with the Hemi, the package also includes SRT tuned performance exhaust, but the key feature of this package is the increases towing capacity of 8,700 pounds. The performance brakes and suspension bits make the Durango more fun to drive, but they also lead to the higher towing capacity – hence the name Tow and Go.
