Today, Jeep announced that the 2024 Compass would have standard 4×4, rather than keeping a base front-drive model. A single engine is available, the 2-liter turbo with 200 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque, both claimed as best in class; it is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic.
The top trim model adds semi-autonomous driving, parking automation, traffic sign recognition, and 360° camera. All trims have drowsy driver detection, full speed forward collision warning and braking with pedestrian/cyclist detection, active lane management, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross path detection.
New for 2024 are a new front grille insert and new wheel designs up to 19 inches (late availability), with new all-terrain tires on Trailhawk (late availability). Pictures of these were not yet available.
