Earlier this week, we brought you a look at the 2001 Dodge Ram Charger from the Mexican market that was recently showcased in the 2024 Roadkill Nights Hurricane Grudge Match. In our piece earlier this week, our goal was to discuss the Mexican market Ram Charger, as it was apparent that many people were unfamiliar with that model. Since then, we have gotten some questions about the rest of the vehicles in the Grudge Match, so we put together this piece that looks at the other six vehicles that were built specifically for 2024 Roadkill Nights.
When the 2024 Roadkill Nights Hurricane Grudge Match was first announced, there were six competitors – Herman “Demonology” Young, Westen Champlin, Morgan Evans, Allison Kovalik, Garrett Reed and Tom Bailey. As mentioned above, Bailey brought out the 2001 Ram Charger, Champlin entered with a 1970 Road Runner, Kovalik built a 1999 Dakota, Reed was campaigning a 2018 Demon, Evans brought her 1987 D150 pickup and Demonology came out with his “invisible car” that is actually an old Sam Hubinette Dodge Challenger drift car with all of the body panels removed. Mike Musto would be added a short time later, rounding out the field at a nice, even seven with his I6-powered Dodge Hornet.
Unfortunately, Musto, Bailey and Champlin all broke driveshafts prior to the elimination rounds, so the field was four vehicles – Young, Evans, Kovalik and Reed. In the first round, Reed beat Kovalik and Young beat Evans, but Young crossed the center line and was disqualified, sending Morgan Evans and her Dodge D150 to the finals. In the finals, Evans got out hard against the Demon and never looked back – winning the 2024 Roadkill Nights Grudge Match. Click here for a look at videos of each of the elimination runs.
