AlcHEMI is first of the 2024 Last Call Hemis

As observers puzzle over whether the Hemi is going to be in the first batch of 2025 Ram 1500 pickups, Dodge has launched the first of what appears to be a long series of Last Call V8 Durangos.

Mainly unchanged from 2023, the Durango was thought to be the last bastion of the Hemi V8 engine as the 2025 Ram 1500 was predicted to move to Hurricane Sixes. Then Motor Trend reported that the Hemi V8 would still be included in most of the 2025 Ram 1500 trim levels, which has not yet been confirmed; but the last 392 and Hellcat V8s are likely to be installed into Durangos.

The AlcHEMI is worthy of a Last Call car, with its “instant-on torque” 392 V8 engine producing 485 hp. There will be just 1,000 made, with 250 planned for each of the colors—black, Destroyer Gray, Vapor Gray, and white. All will have Brembo brakes, 20-by-10 forged SRT wheels, , honeycomb textured exterior stripes, SRT interior with yellow and silver stitches and embroidered 392 logos on the seatbacks, a leather-and-suede steering wheel with a white LED SRT logo, and “forged carbon-fiber interior accents.”

The trucks will have many black accents—grille and liftgate badges, 392 fender decals (with yellow accents), wheels, and exhaust tips.

Customers can find the allocations at DodgeGarage.com, by color and zip code radius; the company promised to update the database daily. Allocations will take place during January, the Locator will start up in late February, and production will begin in April. The list price of the package is $3,595 more than the SRT 392 premium Durango. All Durangos are made at the Jefferson Avenue plant in Detroit.
