Introducing the 600hp All-Electric 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S

Yesterday, Jeep took the wraps off of the brand’s first all-electric vehicle in the form of the 2024 Wagoneer S, and thanks to information shared ahead of the debut, there aren’t many surprises – and that is a good thing. The first all-electric Jeep packs gobs of power and luxury into a roomy five-passenger SUV and in premium Launch Edition form, it starts just over $70,000.

“The launch of the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S marks a new chapter in the storied history of the Jeep brand,” said Antonio Filosa, Jeep brand CEO. “Building upon nearly a century of innovation and design, this first global EV will introduce a whole new generation of owners to an experience that is distinctly Jeep and 100% electric in every way. With new energy in the Jeep vehicle lineup, ranging from EV to V-8, customers have never had more freedom to choose their own adventure.”

First and foremost, as expected, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S rides on the STLA Large and it is powered by a pair of 3-in-1 electric drive modules, or EDMs. With an EDM at each axle (one front, one rear), the Wagoneer S delivers 600 horsepower and 617 lb-ft of torque with standard all-wheel-drive. This yields a 0-60 time of just 3.4 seconds and a range of “more than 300 miles”. Like a proper Jeep, the Wagoneer S comes with the Selec-Terrain traction management system with Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow and Sand modes, so this speedy EV can do some off-roading as well.

The Jeep Wagoneer S is powered by a 400-volt, 100 kilowatt-hour battery pack that will charge from 5 to 80% in about 7 hours when using the 48-amp Level 2 home charger that is included with all Launch Edition models. However, when using a commercial DC fast charger, 5-80% takes just 28 minutes, so those folks who have access to a DC charging station will be able to fully charge their battery in around a half-hour. Those who do not will be able to fully charge the system while plugged in at home overnight.

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition shown here has a luxury level interior layout that you would expect with the modern Wagoneer name. Of course, it has leather-wrapped seats that are both heated and cooled, with the ventilated rear seats being a segment exclusive to the Wagoneer S. The Launch Edition also comes with an adjustable LED interior lighting system with 64 different colors and settings for day or night – which compliments the stunning array of screens spread across the dashboard.

These screens are paired with a 1,200-watt, 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, offering an incredible listening experience to go with the beautiful visuals.

In addition to all of the tech mentioned above, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition includes black trim, a “reimagined seven-slot illuminated grille”, 20-inch wheels and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

So far, we only have the full details on the Launch Edition version of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, which starts at $71,995 (including destination). As you can see, this package is pretty much loaded in every way, so it should be towards the upper end of the pricing spectrum for the model. However, we don’t expect to see a “low line” version that does away with the luxury aspect of the Wagoneer name once the details on the rest of the model line are introduced.
