The 2022-24 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2021-24 Jeep Wrangler are being recalled for broken defrosters/defoggers. Around 200,000 vehicles sold in the US, and others sold elsewhere, have software errors which can prevent the defroster/defogger from running, in recall 24V111000. The software upgrade has to be done by the dealer.
Software updates were also the subject of a 2022-24 Lucid Air recall, except there it caused loss of power. Mechanical recalls for the week include loose electrical connections on the 2019-20 Jaguar I-Pace, seat belt bezels on 2024 Silverado EVs, loose suspension parts on 2023 Explorers, leaking/detaching power steering lines on 2021-22 Ford E-series vans/chassis cabs, loose ground cables on six 2021-23 Mercedes models, and breaking valve springs on 2024 Hyundai Palisades. Finally, water damage to the starter solenoids can cause fires on various years of the Genesis G70, G80, G90, and plain-old-Genesis.
David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
