Mopar has released the third SEMA 2024 teaser and this time it is a video, showing the same 1966/1967 Plymouth that we saw in teaser #2, but this time, there is no question that this vehicle is electrified. Click here for a look at the second teaser piece, if you missed it last week.
The only text accompanying the video below read as follows:
“The original muscle-car era was all about performance. The modern muscle-car era stepped that up a few notches. How high can the future muscle-car era go is a good question. An answer from Mopar is coming to SEMA 2024.”
The answer that they are referring to is teased in the video below.
The video begins by providing an array of images that make it clear that this classic Plymouth is packing electric power, including a CCS charging port, a power-up button, a motor temperature gauge, and a Battery Level % gauge, but we also get a look a speedometer that goes to 160, some sporty wheels, coilover suspension and the familiar headlights of a 1966/1967 Plymouth. The video ends with a look at the Mopar Design badge.
Based on what we can see here coupled with the brief text about, it is possible that Mopar is planning to market their electric drivetrain systems for the aftermarket. Social media has popularized a few classic Mopar muscle cars with a Tesla electric drivetrain, so perhaps Mopar is looking to get in on that action as well.
We will know more when SEMA 2024 opens next month, and you will find all of that information right here on Stellpower.
