The 2024 SEMA Show will be held in Las Vegas on November 5th through the 8th and we can expect that Mopar will have a significant presence at the massive convention. Yesterday, Mopar issued the first teaser of a concept headed to the 2024 SEMA Show and, not surprisingly, it is a Ram pickup, but exactly which Ram pickup is the question.
The only clues with the first SEMA 2024 teaser from Mopar is the title – “Chapter 1: Workhorse and Warrior. Obstacles on the job site or the trail are no match for this beastly full-size concept.”
Now, at first glance, many people might assume that this is a new Ram 1500 RHO due to the hood design, which appears to feature a front-facing scoop and a pair of heat extraction vents. That would certainly make sense, as the RHO is the type of vehicle that the SEMA crowd loves, but there is a design aspect that makes me think that this may not be a RHO or even a Ram 1500 at all.
If you take a close look at the front end in the teaser image, take note of how the grille has some sections where the lines run horizontally while other sections have the lines running vertically. Also this truck appears to have a lighting signature with upper and lower elements. The Ram 1500 RHO does not have a grille with horizontal and vertical design elements, nor does it have headlights with distinct upper and lower portions – but the recently introduced 2025 Ram Heavy Duty (below) lineup does feature both of those exterior design features.
With that in mind, I believe that this teaser forecasts a “Moparized” 2025 Ram Heavy Duty – possibly either a Rebel- or Power Wagon-based concept. This would allow the Ram team to show off the new HD lineup while allowing Mopar to show what they have planned for the newest 2500 and 3500 models.
We expect to see more teasers before the 2024 SEMA Show opens and we will bring you those as they are introduced.
