The Ram 1500 Classic, the prior-generation pickup which has been kept around since it’s relatively cheap to make, is facing the end of the line in September, according to a report from AutoForecast Solutions. That will leave the factory at least temporarily making nothing but the Jeep Wagoneer, a large SUV with a more luxurious Grand Wagoneer version.
There has been speculation that the 2026 Durango would move to the Wagoneer body, but since the next generation will stay at Jefferson Avenue (in both gasoline and electric versions), it is unlikely to move to Warren or to the Wagoneer chassis.
Warren Truck is slated to have $600 million in investments through the end of the current UAW agreement. The Wagoneer is slated to be updated in 2025, moving to the new STLA Frame platform; and then an electric version is to be launched in 2027 alongside a refresh of the gasoline version. This is all based on commitments made by Stellantis to the UAW in the 2023 negotiations.
