Stellantis’ SUSTAINera division guarantees that its rebuilt parts are up to Mopar standards, according to a press release, which was meant to show the company’s commitment to SUSTAINera and to Mopar as a global parts brand.

Rebuilt parts include items such as air suspension compressors, half shafts, transmission valve bodies, touch-screen displays, 2.4 liter engines, and Wrangler PHEV battery packs. The company cited an analysis which claimed that 45% of North American drivers care about sustainability, two thirds are interested in rebuilt parts, and more than half are interested in reused parts for repairs (75% of electric vehicle drivers).
Less than six months after its launch in the United States, the American partner, B-Parts, has gathered and certified a million used parts for its warehouses. They include a six-month warranty and order delivery time under five days, and resell parts for over 60 different makes.
The press release used MOPAR in all capital letters, possibly signaling a change to the parts division’s name, or, more likely, by accident, mistaking the trademark abbreviation/contraction (MoPar for Motor Parts) as an acronym. An inquiry on this topic was ignored.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
