A relatively small number of 2025 Ram 1500 pickups have been recalled because a ring on the front hub may have been damaged before installation, disabling the stability control system. Fewer than 34,000 vehicles in the US are affected, along with any trucks sold in the rest of the world. If the front wheel bearing hub assembly has a problem, it will be replaced by dealers. Only 1% of pickups are affected.
Damage to the rings appears to have been Stellantis’ fault, as it was due to “an incorrect parts handling process.” This only affects vehicles built through August 11, 2024. The parts were made by Iljin USA; the South Korean company started in 1970 and has won awards from GM and Ford.
FCA US first learned of the problem on June 4, 2024, but it took through October to review the issue. See the NHTSA for details.
David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
