Factorial Energy told Automotive News that Stellantis had validated their solid-state battery cells, which have higher energy density and lower fire risk than most current lithium designs. They can also be charged quickly.

Factorial has deals with several automakers, including but not limited to Stellantis, which plans to do a test fleet of Dodge Chargers in 2026 followed by actual production somewhere between 2028 and 2032.
The version to be tested provide 375 watt-hours per kilogram, and can be recharged from 15% to 90% in 18 minutes. They should provide longer life than traditional lithium batteries.
Recently, Factorial’s FEST batteries, another alternative technology, passed validation testing as well.
