Most of the recalls this week came from Ford, which like seemingly every automaker in the world is recalling cars for rear-view camera images that don’t show up. This week, it’s Ford’s turn with the 2019 Fiesta, Flex, and Lincoln MKT, and Land Rover’s turn with the 2022-23 Range Rover.
Ford adds to that with pinching power windows on the 2024-25 Nautilus, short-circuiting high-voltage batteries on the 2020-24 Escape and 2021-24 Lincoln Corsair, and failing high pressure pumps on pretty much the entire 2020-2022 F-series range other than the F-150. However, on the lighter side, it seems there’s not much fire risk. Oh, hold on, here it is… “A manufacturing defect in one or more of the high voltage battery cells may result in an internal short circuit and battery failure.”
Around 20,484 cars in the US are affected by the high voltage battery problem, along with exports. The fix is to update the software and replace the high voltage battery pack, if needed.
Other recalls were the 2025 Silverado EV for not making enough noise, the 2025 Polestar 3 for “stalls,” the 2021-23 Acura TLX for not welding the fuel tank and filler neck properly, 2023 Mercedes EQS 450+ for brackets damaging the airbags, and the 2024-25 Tesla S and X for airbags that can tear while deploying (which is quite bad).
Stellantis did not issue any recalls this week.
