The 2023 Jeep Wrangler will get two new colors, as announced earlier; and the Jeep Wave loyalty program will expand to include the Wrangler, providing up to six oil changes and tire rotations, dedicated call center support, trip interruption, and first-day rentals (all for the first three years). The Rubicon will get new wheels.
In both the US and Canada, the Wrangler has a choice of four engines. The plug-in hybrid system, 4xe, provides 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, while the conventional V6 provides 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The V6 diesel is good for 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful is the 392, with 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, but the 4xe setup is surprisingly close to it in acceleration.
As in all recent years, Wranglers are all four wheel drive, with a choice of part-time or full-time 4×4 systems; the Rock-Trac full time four wheel drive system with a 4:1 low gear is optional on the Rubicon, with a part-time system 4:1 low-gear system standard.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
