Last week, we brought you a look at production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, including breakdown by color and some take rate numbers for key options. As that piece was shared in Mopar groups, we received several requests for a similar breakdown by color for the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. Fortunately, Todd Kerr, the same person who tracked Demon 170 and provided those numbers has also tracked Super Stock numbers since the model was introduced for 2020.
(All numbers discussed below are for the United States market. Again, these are unofficial numbers, but they have been gathered by an individual from outside of the company who has been proven to be accurate with his figures.)
Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock Production by Year
The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock was introduced for the 2020 model year as a drag strip-purposed take on the SRT Hellcat Redeye and was offered through the end of production. In addition to a jump to 807 horsepower, the SRT Super Stock features specially tuned suspension and drag radial tires on 18-inch wheels, allowing this package to run in the deep-10-second range in factory form. It is a cool package, but it was not a particularly popular one, with just 1,490 built for the United States over the course of four model years and only 246 built for the final model year of the modern Challenger.
For the first model year in 2020, there were 190 examples of the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock built for the US market. The 2021 model year was the most robust for the Super Stock, with 559 units built, while 2022 saw 495 examples of these track-prepped muscle cars reach owners. As mentioned above, the Last Call of the Challenger accounted for 246 SRT Super Stock units for the US, leading to a total US production of 1,490 cars. At 1,490 units, the SRT Super Stock has the lowest production volume of any Challenger trim level offered during the 2015-2023 era.
Pitch Black was the most popular color of the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock every year, leading by a pretty considerable margin each year. A gray shade was the least popular color each year, the Triple Nickel being the lowest production color in 2020, 2022 and 2023, while Granite was the rarest Super Stock exterior color for 2021. Triple Nickel was second-to-last in 2021, one unit above Granite. Triple Nickel was the lowest production color of those colors which were offered for all four years, with just 34 units produced for the US.
There were also four colors which were only offered for the SRT Super Stock for the 2023 model year and those were Sublime, Plum Crazy, B5 Blue and Destroyer Gray while Gold Rush was only available for the 2021 model year. Those five colors have the lowest production numbers among total Super Stock production, with Destroyer Gray being the rarest at just 13 units.
