Today’s eclipse will introduce a new Jeep Gladiator package, the Nighthawk, which adds $5,295 to the list price but brings a black highlight (lowlight?) package, all-terrain tires, and front and rear Dana 44 axles among other options. It’s available as an add-on to the base Sport model, with a total list price of $43,190 and production of 2,000 for the USA and Canada, combined. Potential buyers can order it now in any current paint color.
In addition to special tires and 3.73:1 heavy duty axles, the Nighthawk adds an anti-spin differential to the rear axle and rock rails. Cosmetic features are gloss black aluminum 20-inch wheels, a body-color hard top with body-color fender flares, black bumper accents, and deep-tint windows. Convenience features are an automatic transmission, power windows and locks, remote keyless entry, and power heated mirrors.
Canadian pricing is $8,195 for the option and $67,435 all-inclusive.
The Jeep is being launched with banner and column ads on weather.com’s Today page (other ads remain on weather.com). The V6 engine is rated at 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. According to Jeep, the Gladiator was the top-ranked midsize pickup in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.
