2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Facelift Brings 647 Horsepower, Revised Trim Levels

We are finally able to discuss the official details of the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Though it is a mid-cycle refresh, there are a few key changes that go much deeper than the revised front.

First, the Wagoneer is no longer a sub-brand, proudly displaying the Jeep moniker. Next, there is no more Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer; there is only the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, in standard and long wheelbase. The base model is named simply the Grand Wagoneer, while upgraded trim levels are Limited and Summit. All come with the standard-output 3.0-liter twin turbo inline-six, and the high output Hurricane I6 is no longer available.

The odds are good that many people who read the first paragraph are far less interested in the name and trim level layout of the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee than they are in the fact that the 540-horsepower high output Hurricane inline-six engine is no longer offered.

When the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer were separate models, the standard output Hurricane delivered 420 horsepower in the Wagoneer while the Grand Wagoneer had the high-output version with 540 hp. For the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the 420-horsepower engine is standard, but a  drivetrain option is coming which will deliver 647 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque – allowing the massive SUV to sprint from a stop to 60 in five seconds flat.

That 647-horsepower drivetrain is the range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) that was originally shown in the Ramcharger pickup; now that the all-electric Ram 1500 has been canceled, the extended-range EV pickup will be called the Ram 1500 REV. The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will share that powerful drivetrain.

“We’re giving our customers a choice in how they experience performance and efficiency,” said Micky Bly, senior vice president and head of global propulsion systems at Stellantis. “Our award-winning 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo I-6 delivers outstanding power and capability, while the new range-extended electric system introduces a smarter path to electrification by combining the quiet confidence of all-electric driving with the assurance of long-range freedom.”

The REEV drivetrain consists of the battery and motor system of an all-electric vehicle, with a V6 engine that charges the battery as well. The engine is not connected to the wheels; it is a pure generator. As long as you can fill the gas tank, the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will never run out of electric power; for a single charge and a single tank of gasoline, Jeep is targeting a range of 500 miles.

Aside from the dramatic change in the drivetrain option list, the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer benefits from a new front end that looks a great deal like the face of the smaller Wagoneer S battery electric vehicle. The redesigned 7-slot grille is illuminated across the top with a steady bar of LED lighting, which shines downward to light up the grille slots. The lower fascia has large T-shaped LED driving lights that tie together the design of the grille and headlight trim.

Finally, to review the trim level layout of the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, we have Grand Wagoneer (rear- or four-wheel-drive), Grand Wagoneer Limited (four-wheel-drive only) and Grand Wagoneer Summit (four-wheel-drive only). Grand Wagoneer Limited buyers can opt for the Altitude or Reserve appearance packages while Summit buyers can option-up to the Obsidian and Reserve appearance packages. There are no appearance packages for the base Grand Wagoneer right now, but there is the new off-road-friendly package, named the Upland. All of the trim line and package information discussed above also applies to the 2026 Grand Wagoneer L long wheelbase models. We will cover all of the details of each package later this week, as right now, we wanted to focus on the key changes for 2026.

2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with rear-wheel-drive carries an MSRP of $62,145 while the four-wheel-drive model starts at $65,145. We do not have full pricing for the full lineup, but we know that the 2026 Grand Wagoneer Limited Altitude starts at $71,140 and the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Summit Obsidian starts at $93,390. We don’t have full pricing for the Grand Wagoneer L lineup either, but for the trim levels mentioned above, add $3,000 for the long wheelbase pricing.

“With the refreshed 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, we’re delivering more than just bold design and refined craftsmanship: we’re offering competitive pricing that ensures exceptional value in the large SUV segment,” said Bob Broderdorf, Jeep brand CEO. “Every Grand Wagoneer also now proudly wears a Jeep badge, reinforcing its prominent position within the Jeep family, while making it easier for customers to find the exact model that fits their lifestyle and price point.”

Production of the Hurricane-powered 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will begin later this year at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan, but it is unclear now when production of the REEV models will begin at the Warren facility.
