New Dodge Challenger, Charger Color Teased in Jailbreak Ordering Process

Late last week, the order banks opened for the new SRT Jailbreak trim level of the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The Jailbreak package is unique in the fact that you can combine any of the available interior and exterior options to create the Hellcat Redeye of your dreams. You pick the exterior color, the stripes, the wheels, the brake caliper colors, badge colors, interior colors and handful of other options with a total of 10 steps.

To explain those steps, Dodge issues a series of slides, which we have included below, but the most important aspect of the Jailbreak ordering information is the hint of a new color coming soon to the Challenger and Charger lineup.

Dodge Challenger/Charger Jailbreak Ordering

As you can see in the menu below, the ordering process for Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Jailbreak models is a 10-step process, which begins with selecting your exterior paint color.

That is followed by 5 other exterior choices, 3 interior choices and the “additional options” page, which includes items for the inside and outside of the Dodge muscle cars. We won’t walk you through every step of the process, since you can follow through the process in the slides below, but we will take a close look at the exterior colors because that is where we find the most intriguing aspect of the new trim level.

Jailbreak Exterior Color Options

The slide below showing the exterior paint options for the 2022 Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Jailbreak models have 14 selections. The 13 returning exterior options – which are currently available on non-Jailbreak models for 2022 as well – include Triple Nickle, Granite, White Knuckle, Pitch Black, Go Mango, Octane Red, TorRed, Indigo Blue, F8 Green, Frostbite, Sinamon Stick, Hellraisin and Smoke Show.

The 14th color chip, shown as a white box with a light gray stripe says “New Color” and where the others have their alphanumeric paint code, this listing has “Coming Soon”.

What we don’t know is whether this “New Color” will be an actual new color, or if we will see a return of a previously offered color which is new compared to the 2021 color chart. For example, in the initial press release introducing the Jailbreak package, Dodge boss Tim Kuniskis referenced Stinger Yellow. The fact that he mentioned that color would lead us to believe that Stinger Yellow will be offered as part of the Jailbreak trim level, but it was offered a few years back, so it isn’t actually new.

For now, we will have to wait to see what Dodge has in store for the new color that is coming soon, but this hint to another exterior color gives hope to the many prospective Jailbreak buyers who are hoping for more exterior color options. Frankly, we expect to see more exterior colors in the coming year, but at least one will be revealed “soon”.

The Other Jailbreak Ordering Steps

Below, we have included the rest of the slides which detail the ordering process for the Dodge Challenger SRT Jailbreak and Dodge Charger SRT Jailbreak. Both models are based on the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, but every other aspect of the car’s appearance can be customized by the buyer. There is also a 10-horsepower bump, allowing these Mopar muscle cars to deliver 807 horsepower, but the real attraction for this model should be the available levels of customization.
