Jeep has come to the rescue of Mopar-following news sites by releasing a 2022 (Jeep®)RED Renegade Special Edition.
The punctuation is from (Jeep®), which uses parenthesis around its own name and a superscripted RED on the special edition Renegade and Compass.
Jeep wrote, “The 2022 Jeep Renegade – known for its best-in-class off-road capability – is getting a bold appearance to match its valiant mission to donate funds that help fight global health emergencies.” The special edition is part of a three year program with the Global Fund, which gets a cut of the revenue from each (RED) vehicle.
In the United States, the (RED) Renegade is based on the Latitude and costs $29,590 plus $1,595 destination. In Canada, it is based on the North, and has a list price of C$34,890 plus $2,095 destination. Regardless, it has Colorado Red mirror caps, a body-color roof with black rails, 19-inch aluminum wheels, black cloth bucket seats with gray stitching, Trailhawk Ruby Red speaker and vent bezels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, console, and shifter, UConnect 4, 8.4 inch display, and GPS navigation.
All Renegades come with 1.3 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines coupled to nine-speed automatics; AWD versions have segment-exclusive disconnect rear axles. Renegades come with full-speed forward collision warning, active braking, blind spot monitors, and active lane management.
Ironically, the (RED) version of the (Jeep®) does not come only in red; buyers can also choose white, black, or gray.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest Mopar site (Allpar) in 1994. After a chemo-induced 2007-2010 break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales (Chrysler history and “permanent” car and truck pages). He most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the marque.
