2024 Dodge Hornet economy, acceleration restated

Dodge has restated the economy and acceleration its “first-ever electrified performance vehicle” (the Durango Hybrid, despite a Hemi V8, doesn’t count).

For Canadians, the powertrain has 288 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, with up to 53 km of all electric range and 573 km of total range. Fuel economy is 31 l/100km (77 MPGe). The PowerShot feature brings the R/T to a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 5.6 seconds.

The GT’s 2.0 liter gasoline engine provides 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque on its own; its 0-100 km/h time is 6.5 seconds, in sport mode.

In addition to the R/T, a hands-free liftgate became standard in the GT Plus and R/T Plus for 2024, and parallel and perpendicular parking was added to the Tech Pack option.

For United States citizens, nothing changes but the all-electric range is 32 miles, the total range is 360 miles, and gas mileage is not yet available.

The Dodge Hornet is sold in AWD only, with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
