Mark Olson’s father was chosen to live with one of the Ghia-built Chrysler turbine cars during its customer evaluation program, sparking a lifelong interest in Chrysler and turbine cars. Mark, who was 16 at the time, was able to drive the car, preserving his memories later at turbinecar.com. He was Jay Leno’s guest for a time after Leno acquired a turbine car, and built the original Plymouth Owners’ Club web site and forums.

Mark died of cancer at the age of 74 at home, and is survived by his wife, Lynette, and his family. A memorial service will be held on November 11 at 2 pm at Twin City Bible Church in Urbana, Illinois.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest, most comprehensive Mopar site in 1994 as he pursued a career in organizational research and change. After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
