Ram 1500 Classic alive in US/Mexico, dead in Canada

The old “DS” platform Ram 1500 Classic, an economy buy, has been dropped in Canada, but remains in production and on sale in the United States and Mexico. The newer “DT” Ram 1500 remains in production and on sale.

Canadian dealers still have stock of the Ram 1500 Classic which will remain on sale until the last truck is sold.

The new DT-body Ram 1500 started for the 2019 model year, but the 2018 models remained on sale, in lower trims, at much lower cost (and with fewer features). They were differentiated by the Classic name.

The 2024 Ram 1500 Classic comes in two forms in the US, Tradesman (starting at $38,705 before incentives) and Warlock (starting at $43,635). The Tradesman comes in white and red, with many other colors costing $200 to $500. It has 17 inch wheels and a 5-inch or 8.4 inch screen; V6 and V8 ($2,545) engines are available.
