The 5.7-liter Hemi has returned to the Ram 1500 lineup for the 2026 model year, with dealership deliveries beginning late last month. I drove the newest Hemi-powered pickups a few weeks back and found that they offer the same familiar V8 punch that we all know and love, and thanks to the standard GT exhaust system, these Ram pickups sound fantastic. These are the trucks that many people demanded when the V8 was removed from the half-ton lineup for the 2025 model year and if you are one of those people, you can build and price your 2026 Ram 1500 with the Hemi on the Ram Trucks website now.

The 5.7-liter Hemi with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque is currently available on the Ram Trucks website for most trim levels, but for you to select it on the website, you have you pick certain features. For example, if you select the Quad Cab body for any of the models, the Hemi is not listed as an option, but if you select the Crew Cab with the 5’7” bed, it does show up. Also, you have to select four-wheel-drive to have the Hemi option show up in the Build and Price section of the website, so it seems that right now, you can only build a 2026 Ram 1500 with the Hemi if you get 4WD and the Crew Cab with the 5’7” bed.

As expected, the 5.7-liter Hemi adds $2,895 to the bottom line for the Tradesman, Express, Warlock and Big Horn, all of which come standard with the 3.6-liter V6. The standard output (SO) Hurricane with 420-horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque costs $1,695 for those trim levels, so as originally announced, the Hemi is a $1,200 upcharge over the SO Hurricane engine. That means that when you get up to the 2026 Ram 1500 Laramie, which comes standard with the SO Hurricane, the Hemi only costs $1,200 rather than $2,895.

The Hemi is currently not listed as an option for the Rebel, RHO or Tungsten models, but we know that it is coming for the Rebel. Representatives of the brand have suggested that a 5.7-liter Hemi-powered RHO is being considered, but it is not officially in the pipeline yet. It is unclear if the range-topping Tungsten will get the Hemi, but unlike the Limited and Longhorn models which also come with the high output Hurricane, the Tungsten is not currently on the list to get the V8. For the Limited and Longhorn models, the 5.7-liter Hemi is a no-charge option, so if you want 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque with the lovely exhaust note over the 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque straight six, it won’t cost you anything.
