Ford has once again proven it can be #1 in recalls with this week’s NHTSA report.
First, the 2024-25 F-150 Lightning can lose control due to the front control arm separating. This affects around 30,000 vehicles, and was caused by not tightening the nut properly. The same problem was reported separatly for the Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger, but only around 4,500 vehicles had the problem.

The 2025 Ford Explorer/Lincoln Aviator may have a badly tightened mounting bolt for the front subrame, which can cause problems in crash, but that only affects 206 cars.
Other Ford issues were less serious. The rearview camera could stop working on the 2021-24 F-150 and Bronco, or, in separate recalls, on the 2021-24 Bronco, Edge, and Lincoln Nautilus; 2023-24 Escape, F-250, F350, F450, F550, F600, and Lincoln Corsair; 2024 Mustang and Ranger; 2022-25 Transit; 2022-24 Lincoln Navigator; and 2021-23 Mustang Mach E.
In addition, the stability control may stop working in the 2022-25 F-150 and F-150 Lightning, except for 2024 models, which somehow escaped it. The instrument panel may not light up on the 2022-23 Transit, and the seat belt warning may break on the 2020-23 Lincoln Aviator and Corsair.

Ram had a single recall, for the 2022-25 ProMaster rearview image camera failing. Volkswagen recalled the 2024-25 Atlas, including Cross Sport, for the same failure. Finally, and rather amusingly, a wide variety of 2025 Mercedes cars and 2024 GLE 350 4Matics may drop their interior camera and mirror due to “insufficient attachment” to the windshield (bad glue?). Only 26 actual vehicles are affected, though nine different models were listed in the recall. (All recall quantities refer only to the United States, but most recalls are global in scope.)

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest Mopar site (Allpar) in 1994. After a chemo-induced 2007-2010 break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales (Chrysler history and “permanent” car and truck pages). He most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the marque.
