Jeep is about to start testing the 2026 Grand Cherokee, according to Stellantis, which means the camouflage is coming off. To get the edge on spy photographers, Jeep is releasing two photos—one for the interior, and one for the exterior.

The 2026 Grand Cherokee will still be built in Detroit, in two and three row form. The current engines seem likely to continue with an added Hurricane turbocharged six-cylinder (long promised) and continuing with the 4xe plugin hybrid version, currently the third best selling PHEV in the United States.

The main changes are likely to be electronic and feature-driven, rather than core to the platform. There might be alterations to better fit into STLA Large production envelopes, as well as higher autonomous driving functions, updates to the telematics, and powerful Hurricane engines.

David Zatz started what was to become the world’s biggest Mopar site (Allpar) in 1994. After a chemo-induced 2007-2010 break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales (Chrysler history and “permanent” car and truck pages). He most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the marque.
