The 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas is less than a month away and the crew at Mopar has begun teasing the customized vehicles that they will use to draw spectators to their sprawling display – starting with a new Dodge Charger.
Unfortunately, the image shown here of a current generation Dodge Charger is not accompanied by any additional information. Sometimes Mopar will include hints in the press release or in the text under the image, but this time, the following is all that we get:
“Today, Mopar offers an early look at a new concept for the 2025 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas on Nov. 4-7. Mopar has prepare a wide and wild array of customized vehicles and hundreds of quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories for its display area in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.”
Of course, the biggest question with this teaser image is whether this is a Dodge Charger Daytona or a Dodge Charger Six Pack – EV or twin turbo inline-six. Those two models are easily identified by the layout of the hood and grille, as the gas-powered model lacks the unique R-Wing design of the EV which allows air to flow through the grille and up over the hood rather than through the engine bay. The issue here is that the grille and hood area are shadowed in such a way that it is hard to see whether the R-Wing is there or not. However, the bit of lower grille filler towards the bottom of the teaser image looks to me like the filler design of the Daytona, not the design of the Six Pack. Also, I think that what we can see of the hood design looks more like the Dodge Charger Daytona than the Six Pack, so I think that this is a Moparized BEV.
If this is a Mopar-modified Dodge Charger Daytona, I would expect to see the car lowered a bit on custom wheels, a custom paint job (seemingly Plum Crazy), unique interior appointments, some custom aero bits on the outside and possibly some sort of power-increasing package – but this could just be a styling study that doesn’t touch the electric drive system.
On the other hand, if this is a Dodge Charger Six Pack, I would expect to see many of the same interior and exterior upgrades, but I would expect louder exhaust and some tuning upgrades to improve performance. With SEMA 2025 being held on November 4-7, we don’t have to wait long to find out more about this mysterious purple muscle car.
