This morning, Fox Factory Vehicles debuted the Ram 1500 Lowered – a high performance street truck that was developed in conjunction with the folks at Direct Connection. This truck features a unique appearance inside and out, an aggressive stance and, most importantly, a supercharged Hemi delivering 650 horsepower.
On the outside, the Ram 1500 Lowered feature a custom front and tailgate cap, bedside graphics that are somewhat like the classic Mopar “billboard” graphics on the E-body muscle cars, gold accents all around and a set of custom 22-inch wheels. Based on the information that is currently available, it looks like the Ram 1500 Lowered will only be offered with the Crew Cab with the 5’7” bed, but it is available in six exterior colors – Diamond Black, Silver Zynith, Bright White, Hydro Blue (my personal favorite of the options, shown below), Forged Blue and Granite Crystal.
On the inside, basic cloth seats are standard, but for $1,085, buyers can upgrade to a gorgeous custom leather seating layout, featuring black leather, gold trim and Direct Connection logos on the upper seatback.
Now for the most important part – the drivetrain of the Ram 1500 Lowered – Direct Connection pickup. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 has been fitted with a Whipple supercharger and a performance dual exhaust system, leading to an output of 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel-drive is standard, but for $4,045, buyers can add four-wheel-drive. While some people might immediately think that rear-drive is better for a sport truck, it is going to be hard to use 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque in a rear-drive, long wheelbase pickup, so 4WD might be a good idea for anyone who is looking to go drag racing with their supercharged Ram 1500.
Finally, the Ram 1500 Lowered – Direct Connection features a high performance suspension system from Ridetech that gives the truck a sportier, lowered stance while also improving handling characteristics.
The base pricing for the Ram 1500 Lowered – Direct Connection starts at $89,995. Those who want the custom leather interior will be looking at a price of $91,080 and a DC650 pickup with the premium interior and 4WD will cost $95,125. That is a pretty hefty price tag – rivaling that of the Ram 1500 TRX – but for those Ram fans who want a high performance street truck, the beast shown here from Fox Factory Vehicles and Direct Connection is the best option going. It even comes with a factory warranty, offering 3 years and 36k miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage and 5 years and 50k miles of drivetrain coverage.
