The 2022 models will soon be here and while there are no big changes planned for the Dodge Challenger when the new model year production begins, there are smaller changes. Also, there has been all sorts of rumors about what will and won’t be offered for 2022, so today, we bring you a look at the details for the new model year Dodge Challenger.
Keep in mind, this applies to the 2022 Challenger lineup based on the information that is currently available, but we are all-but-guaranteed to see some changes during the 2022 calendar year.
New for 2022
Right now, there is only one official change for the 2022 Dodge Challenger. There is a new deluxe security system that includes a glass break sensor, a vehicle inclination sensor and an interior motion sensor. This system is standard on R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Redeye and SRT Super Stock models while SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT AWD and R/T models can add this beefed-up security system by adding the Driver Convenience Group.

2022 Dodge Challenger Trim Levels
For the 2022 model year, the Dodge Challenger has 9 trim levels, but that number doesn’t include the widebody packages, the 1320 package or the T/A package.
According to Dodge, there are the 9 trim levels for the 2022 Challenger:
-SXT
-SXT AWD
-GT
-GT AWD
-R/T
-R/T Scat Pack
-SRT Hellcat
-SRT Hellcat Redeye
-SRT Super Stock
The R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye are all available in standard width or Widebody form. The SRT Super Stock is only offered as a Widebody model. In addition to those models above, the R/T trim level can be equipped with the Shaker or T/A packages while the R/T Scat Pack can be upgraded to a 1320, Shaker or T/A model.
2022 Challenger Engines and Transmissions
The 2022 Dodge Challenger is offered with one V6 engine, three V8 engines and two transmissions. Below is a list of the every configuration of the car with horsepower and torque figures, along with the transmissions offered with each form of the muscle car.
–SXT – 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 303 horsepower, 268 lb-ft of torque, 8-speed automatic only
–SXT AWD – 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 303 horsepower, 8-speed automatic only
–GT – 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 303 horsepower, 8-speed automatic only

–R/T – 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 375 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque 6-speed manual, 372 horsepower, 400 lb-ft of torque 8-speed automatic
–R/T Shaker – 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 375 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque 6-speed manual, 372 horsepower, 400 lb-ft of torque 8-speed automatic
–R/T T/A – 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 375 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque 6-speed manual, 372 horsepower, 400 lb-ft of torque 8-speed automatic
–R/T Scat Pack – 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 horsepower, 475 lb-ft of torque, 6- speed manual or 8-speed automatic
–R/T Scat Pack Shaker – 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 horsepower, 475 lb-ft of torque, 6- speed manual or 8-speed automatic
–R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody – 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 horsepower, 475 lb-ft of torque, 6- speed manual or 8-speed automatic
–RT Scat Pack T/A – 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 horsepower, 475 lb-ft of torque, 6- speed manual or 8-speed automatic

–SRT Hellcat Redeye – Supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi with 797 horsepower, 707 lb-ft of torque, 8-speed automatic only
–SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody – Supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi with 797 horsepower, 707 lb-ft of torque, 8-speed automatic only
–SRT Super Stock (standard Widebody)– supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi with 807 horsepower, 707 lb-ft of torque, 8-speed automatic only
Exterior and Interior Colors for 2022
When the 2022 Dodge Challenger first begins reaching dealerships, the modern Mopar muscle car will be offered in the following 13 colors:

F8 Green
Go Mango
Granite
Hellraisin
Indigo Blue
Octane Red
Pitch Black
Sinamon Stick
Smoke Show
TorRed
Triple Nickel
White Knuckle
There will also be five interior color combinations, some of which won’t be offered with certain exterior colors. Once the 2022 Build & Price cool goes live on Dodge.com, we will be able to easily see which interior colors are and are not offered with the different exterior hues.

The pricing for the 2022 Challenger has not been announced yet either, but once we get closer to the arrival of the new model year muscle cars, we will have those numbers as well.
