Jeep is recalling 2022 Grand Cherokees and 2021 Grand Cherokee Ls because the tail-light side markers may be broken. Around 100,000 vehicles in the United States, as well as exports to countries that use the same lights, are covered by FCA US recall Z50 (federal recall 22V544).
Only 1% of the recalled vehicles are likely to have the problem—around 354 Grand Cherokees made from May 17, 2021 to November 18, 2021 and around 98,832 Grand Cherokee Ls made from December 3, 2020 to November 23, 2021.
FCA’s report did not mention how the tail-lamps were damaged. The recall will start this quarter.

After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
