Stellantis’ Free2Move subsidiary has signed a deal to buy the car-sharing company Share Now from Mercedes and BMW. Buying the three year old company will add 14 European cities and 10,000 vehicles—albeit ones made by competitors—to Free2Move’s 2,500-car fleet.
The move is part of Stellantis’ “Dare Forward 2030” strategy, which has a goal of earning a €2.8 billion annual profit by 2030. Free2Move recently announced its purchase of Opel Rent, which is focused on Germany and Austria, as well; Opel Rent is being transitioned from rentals to “mobility.”
Free2Move operates in Paris, Madrid, and several cities across the United States.

After a chemo-induced break, during which he wrote car books covering Vipers, minivans, and Jeeps, he returned with Patrick Rall to create StellPower.com for daily news, and to set up MoTales for mo’ tales.
David Zatz has around 30 years of experience in covering Chrysler/Mopar news and history, and most recently wrote Century of Chrysler, a 100-year retrospective on the Chrysler marque.
