Carrying the racing hopes of four brands with her, Leah Pruett returned to the NHRA nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota, reaching the final round in a Tony Stewart Racing Dodge//SRT Direct Connection Top Fuel dragster. In her 200th NHRA Top Fuel start, she defeated two Top Fuel world champions and the current points leader, but was nipped from a win by former world champion Antron Brown, who tripped the lights 0.042 seconds faster.
Matt Hagan, four-time 2023 Funny Car winner, had a first round loss and now sits second in points.
The next event is the 68th Dodge Power Brokers NHRA US Nationals on September 1-4.
