We know that 2023 will be the final model year for the current generation of the Dodge Challenger and Charger, but with yesterday’s press release from the brand, we have reached the beginning of the end. Dodge is “directing dealers to submit all orders for the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger by the end of July”. In other words, if you are planning on ordering a 2023 Challenger or Charger, you have 12 business days left to do so.
“For enthusiasts looking to order a Dodge Challenger or Charger, especially a high-horsepower model, such as the Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat or a special-edition model, it’s truly the last call for the ‘Last Call,’” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand CEO – Stellantis. “As we transition to an exciting, electrified muscle car future, we’re marking the end of an unforgettable era for Dodge, and time is running out for those who want to own a piece of it.”
You can still use the Dodge Horsepower Locator on DodgeGarage.com to find your ideal 2023 Challenger or Charger, but frankly, the vast majority of units have been allocated to customers. However, in quickly checking the Horsepower Locator for a few dealerships in my area, they have allocations remaining for R/T, Scat Pack and Hellcat models. There is actually a surprising number of Hellcats left locally and Scat Packs seem to be available at many dealerships – which means that there are still plenty of Hemi-powered muscle cars available to order. There are still a ton of the Last Call special edition models in dealership inventory, including the Swinger, the Shakedown, the Super Bee, the King Daytona and the Black Ghost.
In addition to the order banks for the 2023 Challenger and Charger closing at the end of July, we also know that the Dodge brand will not build these cars past December 31st, but that is something that Tim Kuniskis stated last year when the Last Call program was introduced.
The bottom line here is that if you are waiting to order a 2023 Dodge Challenger or Charger, you are down to your final two weeks, so you had better act quickly.
