The 2023 Grand Wagoneer will have two engines, the 392 Hemi (6.4 liter V8) and the Hurricane Turbo 510. As with the Wagoneer, the base model will have the V8, while the Series II and Series III will have the Hurricane, which gets around 1 mpg better mileage while delivering more power.
The 392 Hemi is good for 471 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque, a bit less than its performance in Dodge Challengers and Chargers—likely due to tuning differences which account for the Grand Wagoneer’s weight. The Hurricane, on the other hand, produces 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, despite its better gas mileage. Both engines require premium fuel.
The alignment of engines mirrors the lower-output Hurricane and the 5.7 Hemi in the standard Wagoneer; both of those engines take midgrade fuel.
The Obsidian Package will be available on both Series II and III for 2023; the base model and Series II will have eight-passenger seating standard, while Series III will have seven-passenger seating with second-row captain’s chairs. The seven-passenger setup is optional on the lower levels.
